Scan to Email

1. Select ScanPro

To send scans directly to your email address, please select "ScanPro" on the home screen. With ScanPro, you can also send scans to other recipients. Please note that scans larger than 2 MB will be provided as a download.

The download is only accessible within the HTW Berlin network.

Select ScanPro

2. Set Recipient

Please select "Send to" and then click on "Email (manual input)" on the next page, then enter the address to which the email should be sent.

For the file type, besides the standard "PDF," you can also use "Searchable PDF" and "Image." Besides "Auto" (color), you can also select "B&W" (black and white) and "Grayscale." Choosing the color option can reduce the file size. Under "Advanced Scan Settings," you also have the option to make additional settings.

3. Advanced Scan Settings

Under the "Advanced Scan Settings", you can enable duplex scanning, which allows both the front and back sides of the original to be scanned via the document feeder. With the "Remove Blank Pages" feature, blank pages can be automatically removed from the PDF document when an original is fed through the document feeder. The DPI setting increases the quality of the scan but also the file size.

Once you have made all the settings, you can perform the scan by pressing the green scanner icon.

4. Don't Forget to Log Out!

Important: Don't forget to log out! You can do this using the logout button at the top right or the home icon at the bottom of the start screen. Your remaining balance will only be re-credited to your StudentCard/MensaCard upon logging out. Therefore, the card must not be removed from the reader during the entire copying/printing process.

If you happen to forget to log out...

If you did not log out and your balance was not re-credited to your StudentCard/MensaCard, simply place the card on the reader again. The balance remains in the system until you log in again at one of the printing devices. It does not have to be the same device you last used.

The balance that was not re-credited will be loaded back onto the card when you place the card on the reader again. If, in the meantime, you have added more credit, both balances will be combined. You will then see the message: "Transaction successfully completed. Remaining credit: XX,XX €". You can now remove the card from the reader. By placing it on the reader again, you can use the device with the available balance. Don't forget to log out!
