Mozilla Thunderbird
Step 1: Add email account
Please open your Mozilla Thunderbird. Then press the key combination "Alt + D". This will take you to the file menu. Here you can add a new e-mail account in Mozilla Thunderbird via "New → Existing e-mail account...".
Please enter your name and your HTW e-mail address in the window that opens up. Please leave the "Password field" empty and click on "Edit manually". Then continue with step 2 of this manual.
Step 2: Check server configuration
Please make sure that the following information is entered:
Line 1:
Incoming mail server (IMAP): mail.htw-berlin.de
port: 993
SSL: SSL/TLS
Authentication: Password, normal
Line 2:
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.htw-berlin.de
port: 465
SSL: SSL/TLS
Authentication: Password, normal
For both user name fields, enter only your HTW account user name (e.g. s0000001 or amuster; but not your email alias firstname.lastname).
If all settings are correct, you can finish the process by clicking the "Done" button.
Step 3: Enter password
After finishing the configuration you will be asked to enter your HTW password. Afterwards you can use your mailbox.
